Long Term Hire

Each service has a number of manual wheelchairs available for long term hire. The chair can be kept for up to 4 weeks and then reviewed weekly to accommodate any extensions which are dependent on new advance bookings or service requirements. The chairs are generally small wheel or large wheel (with self propel facility) and range from 17” (18 stone) wide to 22” (21 stone) wide seats.

The chairs all have folding backs and removable footplates allowing easy transportation. These chairs can be taken anywhere a wheelchair can go and very often are taken abroad on holiday or even just overnight for an event or shopping out-with our own opening hours. The chairs must be uplifted and returned to the same outlet and if the person requiring the chair is not present with relevant ID then the person taking the chair away becomes the hirer and must produce 2 forms of ID, one photographic.

The chairs are not supplied with a cushion or bag. Maintenance and cleaning is carried out regularly to the same standard as scooters.

Please note that only designated manual wheelchairs are available for long term hire and powered equipment is not included in this service.
